As a professional photographer, I need quick turnaround time and reasonable prices. Mike at Advanced Camera Repair Service in Plainfield is amazing! I recently was referred to him by Procam. His prices are very reasonable and everything has taken less than a week to fix.
I searched locations in the Chicagoland area. The owner of this shop does very good work, has reasonable prices, and stands behind his shop warranty. (He just repaired my lens for a different issue on the house). My second repair took him less than 5 hours from the time I dropped it off.
Had a Canon DSLR that was having a mic input issue, took it to Mike and right away and diagnosed the problem correctly very quickly. Got the part ordered and despite the part being back ordered, he was very great communicator throughout the whole process.
My camera broke (water) and I brought it here for a honest evaluation of what might be wrong and how much it would cost to repair. He investigated that afternoon for FREE and told me the motherboard was damaged. New cost was what the camera was worth.
